Bernardica Miočević, a young pianist from Čapljina (born in 2009), and since this school year a student of the Josip Hatze Music School in Split, performed in Zagreb from February 12–15, 2026, at the renowned international competition Young Virtuoso.
The competition gathered a large number of young musicians of various age groups from Croatia and abroad, making the competition exceptionally strong. Despite this, Bernardica once again achieved notable success and won a valuable award. The jury, composed of distinguished professors and music educators, recognized her talent, dedication, and artistic maturity in performance.
Significant credit for her musical development belongs to her first piano teacher, Gabrijela Glavinić, as well as to everyone who has contributed to her progress over the years. Her current professor, Yurii Kot, has only words of praise for this exceptionally gifted young pianist.
Bernardica took her first musical steps at the Center for Education and Culture AKADEMIJA Čapljina and further refined her skills at the ARDEA International Masterclasses in Čapljina. If she continues on this path, a bright musical future undoubtedly lies ahead of her – to her own pride and to the pride of her hometown, Čapljina.
