The final concert of the participants of the piano masterclass led by Prof. Marijan Đuzel was held on 7 August at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Čapljina, as part of the 10th anniversary edition of the ARDEA International Classical Music Masterclass.
The concert offered the young pianists an opportunity to present the results of their intensive work during the masterclass, as well as their individual artistic interpretations of works representing different periods of the piano repertoire.
The performers were Stanko Barišić, Marija Skender, Gabriela Krvavac, Frane Kalajžić, Eva Martinac, Gorana Kukavica, Marija Bekavac and Andrea Pavić.
The programme featured works by some of the most important composers in the history of piano music, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt, alongside a work by Croatian composer Silvije Bombardelli.
Stanko Barišić performed Liszt’s arrangement of Chopin’s “Mädchens Wunsch”, while Marija Skender presented the first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1. The final concert reflected several days of dedicated work with Prof. Marijan Đuzel, during which the participants had the opportunity to further develop their technique, interpretation and individual musical expression.
Connecting young musicians with distinguished teachers and artists remains one of the central ideas of the ARDEA Masterclass. In its 10th anniversary edition, ARDEA continues to provide a space for learning, artistic exchange and valuable performance experience for new generations of musicians.
