Soon, Čapljina will welcome one of the most sought-after young Croatian artists, who has attracted significant international attention in recent years through his brilliant concert performances and outstanding achievements at prestigious international competitions.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary edition of the ARDEA International Classical Music Masterclass and in celebration of World Music Day, observed on June 21, Čapljina will host one of the most distinguished Croatian musicians of the younger generation – pianist Jan Niković.
A Zagreb-born pianist currently based in Berlin, Jan Niković was awarded the prestigious "Ivo Vuljević" Award as Croatia’s best young musician of 2025. He is considered one of the leading figures of the contemporary Croatian piano scene. His international career includes performances across Europe, the United States, Brazil, and Japan, where he has established himself as an artist of exceptional interpretative depth and remarkable musical sensitivity.
He has collaborated with renowned orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, and the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a regular guest at major international festivals and concert series, including the prestigious Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
His performances are distinguished by artistic maturity, technical brilliance, and expressive musicality, leading music critics to recognize him as one of the most prominent and sought-after Croatian pianists, whose international career continues to grow.
Jan Niković’s debut performance in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the central concert event of the jubilee 10th edition of the ARDEA International Classical Music Masterclass. The recital will take place on Saturday, June 20, at 8:00 PM, at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Čapljina.
The concert is organized by the Centre for Education and Culture "AKADEMIJA" Čapljina, and admission is free.
